Silent Hunter 4: Wolves of the Pacific is a computer submarine simulation for Windows developed by Ubisoft Romania and published by Ubisoft in 2007. It places the player in command of an American submarine during World War II and takes place in the Pacific theater. The game allows players a variety of play modes including career, single war patrol and single battle engagements.
Gameplay features
The simulation uses detailed and accurate 3D graphics to immerse the player in the environment of a World War II submarine. The systems of the vessel are largely functional and the player is exposed to many aspects of submarine warfare of the time. The game allows the player to choose how realistic and challenging the game experience is to be and it is designed to allow new players to easily master the basic game play, while allowing for experienced users to manually control systems such as crew management, torpedo allocation, radar, sonar and target trigonometry.
Like its predecessor Silent Hunter 3, the simulation features a fully dynamic campaign. The game gives players various mission objectives and unique rewards, and attempts to make each campaign a unique experience. The major naval battles of the war in the Pacific, such as the Battle of Midway are re-enacted and players are informed of them via in-game radio messages. However, unlike its prequel, the game gives more specific and varied mission objectives during the campaign, rather than just assigning a specific patrol area.
Multiplayer
Silent Hunter 4 features a new online adversarial mode and gives players the opportunity to command Japanese destroyers and pit them against US submarines. Servers will support up to eight players and let them choose from several scripted and generated missions.

Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler's Green utilizes traditional first-person shooter gameplay. Players can use a variety of either melee weapons or firearms to fight through the zombie hordes. Some weapons are capable of dismembering the zombies, while other weapons are not. The zombies' jaws, heads, arms, forearms, and legs can be shot or chopped off by the player. This can very effectively save the player so as to make an escape. The zombies themselves appear in many varieties (regular, ones armed with a melee weapon, crawlers, puking ones, screamers that summon other zombies, and poisonous, exploding ones) and each takes a different amount of hits to kill, which varies upon the difficulty setting of the game. The player cannot become a zombie, but it is stated that people who die for any reason become zombies, like in the movie.
The multiplayer component of the game consists of many online game types. These consist of death match, team death match, and "Capture the Flag" modes. There is also an "Invasion" (co-op survival) mode, in which players are trapped in a small map where they must survive for a chosen amount of time. In this mode, the weapons and ammunition regenerate in the same spots each time, allowing the players to dodge the burden of ammunition shortages. Players can pick up melee weapons from recently killed melee weapon wielding zombies as well. In some variants of Invasion maps, players who die or are bitten by zombies become zombies themselves, and try to kill their former teammates.

Western filmlerinin ayrı bir havası vardır. Vahşi Batı�nın ıssız kırmız çöllerinin bir ucu hep kovboy kasabalarına denk gelir. Atların her geçişinde yerden kalkan toz, sanki kovboyların giysilerine serili, vazgeçemedikleri bir aksesuardır. Kızgın güneşe ancak, içki ve şapka ile dayanılır. Ayrıca kavga çıkarmak için sarhoş olmak gerekmez... Kısaca Vahşi Batı, filmlerden gördüğümüz kadarıyla böyle bir yerdir.

1997 yılında Vahşi Batı konulu bir FPS oyunu oynamıştım. Adı Outlaws�dı. Çizgi film tarzı grafiklerine rağmen Vahşi Batı atmosferi son derece güzel yansıtılmıştı. Gerek konusu gerek kurgusu son derece başarılı olan Outlaws, GUN isimli Vahşi Batı�da geçen oyunu yüklerken heyecanlanmama sebep oldu. Zira Outlaws�ın bende bıraktığı tat, GUN için de iştahımı kabarttı diyebilirim.
GUN�ı makinemize yükleyip, icon�una tıklamamızdan kısa bir süre sonra oyunumuz açılıyor. Oldukça ilgi çekici olan video, bize oyun hakkında bazı ipuçları veriyor. Zira şiddet seviyesinin ortalama bir oyundan yüksek olduğu sizin de dikkatinizi çekmiştir. Bunun sadece videoda kısıtlı olacağını sanmayın. Oyunda da sınırların zorlanacağı sahneler olacak. Neyse sözü fazla uzatmadan options�a girip, grafik ayarlarında ciddi oynamalar yapıyoruz. Zira yapım ilk açıldığında maalesef pek görsel bir şey vaad etmiyor. Ayarları en üst noktaya getirdiğimizde ise bir derece oyunu kotarıyoruz. Ayarlarımızı tamamladıktan sonra New Game ile Gun�daki maceramız başlıyor!
Önce bir binmesi öğrenmek gerek
İlk olarak görüntüler dikkatimizi çekiyor. Üstün körü bakıldığında göze hoş gelebiliyorlar ancak dikkatli bakıldığında özellikle çevre detayları, günümüzün oyunlarına nazaran biraz geride kalıyor. Hele bir de Half-Life: Lost Coast�u gördüyseniz, ister istemez grafikler konusunda tahammül sınırınız değişiyor ve detaysız görselliğe pek katlanamıyorsunuz. Açıkçası karakterlerin tasarımı hiç fena değil ama ortamdaki köşelilikler biraz atmosferi körertiyor. Birde oyuna genel olarak solgun renkler hakim. Atmosferi daha gerçekçi kılmak için yapılan bu hamle, bazen ortam ile neredeyse aynı renkte olan yanınızdaki karakteri kaybetmenize neden bile neden olabiliyor. Tabi bu gibi durumlarda map imdadımıza yetişiyor.
